Out of all the four commercially pure titanium alloys grade 2, perhaps is most utilized across several industrial applications. It is because the Asme Sb 381 F2 Threaded Flanges has good ductility and resistance to corrosion, both of which are industry requirements. Not all Industrial components are produced straight, some of them have to be shaped to suit the equipment. This is where the ductility of the material comes into play.
Since grade 2 has good ductility, any Titanium Flanges manufacturer in India can produce flanges that are shaped differently, even the threaded type. Despite its good resistance to corrosion and high ductility, what makes grade 2 attractive is its low density. The preference for lightweight products with moderate strength such as astm b381 gr.f2 socket weld flanges are typically seen in marine engineering industries. Grade 2 is resistant to the effects of seawater, which is why it could also be used in desalination plants for reverse osmosis. In reverse osmosis, saltwater is converted to potable water by the use of external pressure and solvents. Since the ASME B16.5 Titanium grade 2 flanges are resistant to salt water, solvents could be used to process it by reverse osmosis. There are several specifications that ensure the supply of good components in the market. One such specification is the ASTM B381, where there are different tests are performed on the Titanium grade 2 flanges. Usually, the alloy used to produce forged flanges must conform to the chemical composition. And so if the manufacturer is to produce Titanium grade 5 flanges such that it conforms to specification ASTM B381. This means the alloy will consist of elements such as aluminum and vanadium that need to be added to its chemical composition.
