316 SS Flat Washer and M3 Locks Washers Supplier in India
Washers are one of the most versatile fasteners available. Not only can they be produced wing different stainless steel grades, but they can be shaped to suit a specific set of requirements. Generally, a Stainless Steel Washer Manufacturer may consider using grades 316 or 304 austenitic alloys for production because both these materials are versatile and could be easily procured in the market. Alloy 304, which is commonly known as A2-70 or as 18/8 is one of the most economical stainless steel around. With 18% chromium and 8% nickel, the designation A2-70 indicates the tensile strength of the A2-70 SS Shim Washer, which is 700 N/mm2.
While this grade is not highly alloyed, it offers moderate corrosion resistance properties with good mechanical strength, it is not intended for heavy-duty applications. Such cases call for the use of grade 316 or marine grade stainless steel, which includes a small amount of molybdenum in its chromium-nickel chemistry. The 316 SS Flat Washer has better resistance to corrosion, higher mechanical strength, good creep strength along its ability to function well in environments with moderate levels of heat. It is possible to use both grade 316 as well as grade 18-8 Stainless Steel Fender Washers in the food and beverage industry, as they are not adversely affected by the presence of alkali or acids in food groups such as organic acetic acid. Not all stainless steel alloys are suited to function in environments with high levels of thermal energy. Unlike the very conventional grades 316 and 304, one of the most heat resilient materials is 347 Stainless Steel Belleville Washers, which exhibit higher creep properties. This grade is less likely to encounter problems by intergranular corrosion because the content of carbon is low, thereby effectively discouraging the formation of carbide precipitates.
